CVE-2026-11826Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Authenticated PLC runtime crash via unchecked device name

Published Jul 18, 2026 · Updated Jul 18, 2026

Heap-based buffer overflow in OpenPLC Runtime b470206 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to crash the PLC runtime via /modbus. getData() copies an oversized device_name from mbconfig.cfg into the 100-byte MB_device.dev_name field without a length parameter or bounds check. Web-interface authentication is required; heap corruption overwrites adjacent configuration fields and interrupts the PLC process control loop.
