CVE-2026-11791Network attack vector

Server crash via schema-reload use-after-free

Published Jun 18, 2026 · Updated Jun 18, 2026

Use-after-free in Red Hat 389 Directory Server allows remote authenticated users to crash ns-slapd during concurrent LDAP queries. attr_syntax_swap_ht() unconditionally frees attribute-syntax nodes instead of deferring deletion while query threads retain references. Administrative schema-reload privileges and a nanoseconds-wide race are required; a successful race causes dangling-pointer access or double-free.
