Student-level announcement modification via missing authorization
Published Jun 27, 2026 · Updated Jun 27, 2026
Authorization bypass in Masteriyo LMS 2.2.1 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to modify arbitrary course announcement content. CourseAnnouncementController processes announcement-description updates without verifying that the requesting student may edit announcements authored by instructors or administrators. Student-level access is sufficient, and the resulting integrity impact is limited to stored announcement post content.
