Subscriber-level stored XSS via decoded textarea entities
Published Jul 6, 2026 · Updated Jul 6, 2026
Stored XSS in Ultimate Member before 2.12.0 allows remote authenticated users to execute JavaScript through custom textarea profile fields. The textarea output filter strips tags before decoding HTML entities, then emits the decoded value without output escaping. Subscriber-level access and a profile form containing a custom textarea with HTML disabled are required; viewing the profile executes the script in the site's origin.
