CVE-2026-11617Network attack vector

Service interrupt via compression bomb

Published Aug 19, 2026 · Updated Aug 20, 2026

Improper handling of highly compressed data in Tanium Findings before 1.2.95 and 1.4.105 allows authenticated attackers to interrupt service. Tanium has disclosed only that Findings contains a compression bomb flaw and has not identified the specific decompression path or the missing limit that lets highly compressed input amplify resource use. Reachability requires access to a system running the Tanium Client, and Tanium describes the result as a limited denial of service against the Findings service.
