Authenticated denial of service via stalled sync responses

Resource exhaustion in Red Hat Directory Server allows remote authenticated users to crash the service through Content Sync searches. The persistent-search plug-in queues synchronization responses without a bound when a client stops reading, while thread-lifecycle races during connection teardown or shutdown can also crash the server. Exploitation requires an authenticated account with directory read access and the non-default Content Synchronization plug-in enabled; the bounded consequence is service interruption through memory exhaustion or a process crash.
