CVE-2026-11610Network attack vector

Authenticated server crash via oversized SASL UNBIND

Published Jul 7, 2026 · Updated Jul 7, 2026

Heap buffer overflow in the SASL I/O layer of 389 Directory Server allows remote authenticated users to crash the LDAP server. In sasl_io_recv() in sasl_io.c, the unencrypted receive path copies a padded LDAP UNBIND packet into a 512-byte heap buffer without checking its length. A successful SASL bind with integrity protection is required; a Kerberos-authenticated domain user, host, or service account can trigger the crash.
