CVE-2026-11573Network attack vector

Application crash via unbounded recursive XML serialization

Published Sep 8, 2026 · Updated Sep 8, 2026

Uncontrolled recursion in Qt Framework 6.7.0 through 6.8.1 allows remote attackers to crash applications via deeply nested XML. QDomDocument::toByteArray() and QDomNode::save() recursively serialize every nesting level without a depth limit, exhausting the process stack. The application must accept untrusted XML, build a QDomDocument, and then serialize it; parsing alone does not trigger the crash.
