CVE-2026-11527

Command execution and file overwrite via two-argument open

Published Jun 14, 2026 · Updated Jun 14, 2026

OS command injection in Shlomi Fish Config::IniFiles before 3.001000 allows local users to execute commands through a crafted -file argument. The _make_filehandle routine passes that argument to Perl's two-argument open, which interprets pipe and redirect syntax as commands or redirections. Exploitation requires a caller to forward untrusted input to -file and grants command execution or file truncation under the process UID.
