Authenticated service crash via unbounded sprintf
Published Jun 8, 2026 · Updated Jun 8, 2026
Stack-based buffer overflow in Tenda W20E 15.11.0.6 allows remote authenticated users to crash the web service via a crafted Wi-Fi filter remark. The modifyWifiFilterRules handler passes the user-controlled wifiFilterListRemark value to sprintf while building a configuration string without enforcing its destination buffer's capacity. Low-privileged management access is required; the published proof of concept delivers 1,000 bytes, while code execution remains unvalidated.
