Remote code execution via unchecked URL copy
Published Jun 8, 2026 · Updated Jun 8, 2026
Stack-based buffer overflow in the W20E 15.11.0.6 web interface allows remote authenticated users to execute code via gotoUrl. The formPortalAuth function copies the user-controlled gotoUrl value into the 256-byte redirect_url stack buffer with strcpy and no length check. Low-privileged access to the management interface is required; overwriting the saved return address enables root code execution or a service crash.
