Authenticated code execution via unbounded SSID formatting
Published Jun 8, 2026 · Updated Jun 8, 2026
Stack-based buffer overflow in Tenda CX12L 16.03.53.12 allows remote authenticated users to execute code via a crafted SSID. form_fast_setting_wifi_set appends “_5G” to the unbounded ssid parameter with sprintf into the 64-byte ssid_5g stack buffer. Router-management credentials and network access to the endpoint are required; successful exploitation can run code as root or crash httpd.
