Root command execution via unquoted Minidlna db_dir
Published Jun 7, 2026 · Updated Jun 7, 2026
Command injection in GL.iNet Beryl AX firmware 4.4.0 through 4.4.5 allows remote authenticated users to execute root shell commands. An authenticated /rpc session can store a metacharacter-bearing minidlna.config.db_dir value; after realpath fails, minidlnad inserts the raw value into an rm command passed to system(). Administrative authentication and a Minidlna restart are required, after which injected commands run as root on the router.
