Authenticated command execution via shell-interpolated log type
Published Jun 6, 2026 · Updated Jun 6, 2026
OS command injection in vertex-app VERTEX 2026.02.0 through 2026.02.12 allows remote authenticated users to execute server commands. LogMod.get builds a log-file path from req.query.type and interpolates it into an execSync tail command without validation or shell escaping. Any authenticated user who can reach the Log Viewer endpoint can run commands with the VERTEX service account's privileges, enabling server data access or modification and service interruption.
