Subscriber-level specification data tampering via unchecked AJAX
Published Jun 27, 2026 · Updated Jun 27, 2026
Missing authorization in Product Specifications for Woocommerce 0.8.9 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to alter specification data. The __invoke() methods in AttributeGroupController and AttributeController accept the dwps_modify_groups and dwps_modify_attributes AJAX actions without capability checks or nonce verification. Subscriber-level access is sufficient to create, edit, or delete specification-group and attribute taxonomy terms, corrupting stored business data and frontend displays.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
