Denial of service in Rockwell Automation Logix 5370 and 5570 controller firmware allows remote attackers to halt operation via a crafted CIP message. The CIP message-processing path faults while handling the crafted input; Rockwell Automation has not disclosed the malformed field or resource-release operation. Unauthenticated network reachability is sufficient, and exploitation can cause a major nonrecoverable fault that requires a program download to recover.
