Sandboxed code execution via PDFium use-after-free
Published Jun 4, 2026 · Updated Jun 4, 2026
Use after free in PDFium in Google Chrome before 149.0.7827.53 allows remote attackers to execute code in its sandbox via a crafted PDF. Google identifies PDFium as the affected component but has not disclosed which object is freed or which later operation dereferences it. A target must open or render the attacker-supplied PDF, and execution remains confined to the Chrome sandbox absent a separate escape.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.

Attacks
What attackers are doing with it
Daily unique IPs observed by Shadowserver honeypots for known exploited vulnerabilities (KEVs). Missing observations do not establish an absence of attacks.
