Universal cross-site scripting via Omnibox input validation
Published Jun 4, 2026 · Updated Jun 4, 2026
Universal cross-site scripting in Google Chrome before 149.0.7827.53 allows remote attackers to inject script via a crafted page. The Omnibox accepts untrusted page-controlled input during specific UI gestures without sufficient validation, crossing normal origin boundaries. A user must visit attacker-controlled HTML and perform the required gestures; successful exploitation runs arbitrary script or HTML in another origin's context.
