Code execution via unscanned nested DMG archive
Published Jun 4, 2026 · Updated Jun 4, 2026
Code injection in Google Chrome on Mac before 149.0.7827.53 allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code via a malicious file. The Safe Browsing DMG analyzer fails to preserve and pause extraction of a nested archive for recursive analysis, allowing nested content to evade the intended scan. A user must open the file; successful exploitation runs attacker-controlled code with no reported service-interruption impact.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
