Local memory corruption via crafted RTSP method
Published Jan 18, 2026 · Updated Jan 18, 2026
Buffer overflow in cijliu librtsp's rtsp_parse_method allows local users to corrupt process memory through crafted RTSP input. The public report identifies rtsp_parse_method as the locus but does not disclose the destination buffer or the unchecked copy that overruns it. Exploitation requires local low-privilege access and a crafted message to the demo server on port 8554; only an availability-impacting Valgrind failure is demonstrated, not code execution.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
