Memory corruption via malformed video decoding
Published Jun 4, 2026 · Updated Jun 4, 2026
Improper input validation in Google Chrome before 149.0.7827.53 allows remote attackers to write outside memory bounds via a crafted video file. The Codecs component fails to validate video data before a decoding operation writes beyond an allocated memory boundary; Google has not disclosed the affected function or field. Opening or processing attacker-controlled video content is required, after which memory corruption compromises browser confidentiality, integrity, and availability.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
