Windows privilege escalation via CredentialProvider integer overflow
Published Jun 4, 2026 · Updated Jun 4, 2026
Integer overflow in Google Chrome CredentialProvider before 149.0.7827.53 allows remote attackers to escalate privileges on Windows. Google has not disclosed the arithmetic operation or input field that overflows inside CredentialProvider. Exploitation requires a crafted HTML page and an already compromised renderer process, turning that renderer foothold into OS-level privilege escalation.
