Sandbox escape via undisclosed Media input validation
Published Jun 4, 2026 · Updated Jun 4, 2026
Insufficient input validation in Google Chrome Media before 149.0.7827.53 on Windows allows remote attackers to escape the sandbox. Google identifies untrusted input validation in the Media component, but the linked Chromium issue is access-restricted and no public patch identifies the rejected input or incorrect operation. Exploitation requires a crafted HTML page and prior renderer-process compromise; success crosses the renderer sandbox boundary on Windows.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.

Attacks
What attackers are doing with it
Daily unique IPs observed by Shadowserver honeypots for known exploited vulnerabilities (KEVs). Missing observations do not establish an absence of attacks.
