Sandbox escape via USB use-after-free
Published Jun 4, 2026 · Updated Jun 4, 2026
Use after free in the USB component of Google Chrome before 149.0.7827.53 on Windows allows remote attackers to escape the sandbox via a crafted HTML page. Google identifies the USB component as the memory-safety locus, but the restricted Chromium issue leaves the affected function and object-lifetime sequence undisclosed. A user must load the crafted page; successful exploitation crosses Chrome's sandbox boundary, with no further consequence published.
