Stored XSS via unescaped shortcode tag attribute
Published Jan 24, 2026 · Updated Jan 24, 2026
Stored XSS in CM CSS Columns 1.2.1 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to inject scripts through the tag shortcode attribute. The shortcode renderer in includes/Shortcoder.php inserts the user-controlled tag value into generated HTML without sufficient input sanitization or output escaping. Contributor-level access is sufficient, and the stored script executes in the browser whenever a visitor opens the affected page.
