Stored XSS via unescaped fx shortcode attribute
Published Jan 24, 2026 · Updated Jan 24, 2026
Stored XSS in CantoThemes Canto Testimonials 1.0 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to inject scripts via the fx attribute. The shortcode renderer places the user-supplied fx value into generated page output without sufficient sanitization or context-appropriate escaping. Contributor-level access is sufficient, and the stored script executes in the browser of any user who opens the injected page, enabling actions within that user's session.
