Sandbox escape via unvalidated media input
Published Jun 4, 2026 · Updated Jun 4, 2026
Improper input validation in Media in Google Chrome before 149.0.7827.53 allows remote attackers to escape the sandbox via crafted HTML. Google identifies the Media component as the locus, but the restricted Chromium issue leaves the rejected input and faulty validation operation undisclosed. Exploitation requires user interaction and prior renderer-process compromise; success crosses the renderer sandbox into the host security context.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
