Settings modification via missing nonce validation
Published Mar 7, 2026 · Updated Mar 7, 2026
Cross-site request forgery in The Guardian News Feed 1.2 and earlier allows remote attackers to modify plugin settings via a forged request. The settings update handler accepts state-changing requests without validating a WordPress nonce, including changes to the Guardian API key. Exploitation requires an administrator to submit the attacker-controlled request, such as by clicking a crafted link, and is limited to settings integrity.
