CVE-2026-10843Network attack vector

Account-wide AWS destruction via wildcard IAM scope

Published Jun 4, 2026 · Updated Jun 4, 2026

Excessive IAM privileges in Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform 4 allow attackers to damage unrelated AWS resources using operator credentials. The Image Registry, Machine API, Ingress Operator, and EBS CSI Driver CredentialsRequest manifests assign Resource "*" to destructive S3, EC2, Route 53, and EBS actions. Reachability requires an AWS cluster in CCO Mint mode and compromise of an operator credential through pod compromise, RBAC escalation, or Secret read; that credential can delete buckets, terminate instances, change DNS records, or delete volumes across the account.
