Unauthenticated progress disclosure and deletion via REST controller
Published Jun 25, 2026 · Updated Jun 25, 2026
Missing authorization in Masteriyo LMS before 2.2.1 allows remote attackers to read and delete any user's course-progress records. The course-progress REST API controller exposes item retrieval and force-deletion operations without checking authentication or authorization, and deletion removes the database row before a later fatal error returns HTTP 500. Default configurations are affected once an enrolled student has generated a progress item; no cookie or REST nonce is required, and deletion is permanent.
