Unauthenticated service interruption via recursive GraphQL queries
Published Mar 11, 2026 · Updated Mar 11, 2026
Uncontrolled recursion in GitLab CE/EE 18.9 before 18.9.2 allows remote attackers to interrupt service through crafted GraphQL requests. The GraphQL API recursively processes attacker-controlled query structure without an effective recursion bound; the affected resolver and call path are undisclosed. No authentication or user interaction is required, and the published impact is limited to interruption of the affected GitLab instance.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
