Local kernel corruption via live pipe reinitialization
Published Jul 14, 2026 · Updated Jul 14, 2026
Expired pointer dereference in Zephyr RTOS 4.1.0 through 4.4.0 allows local users to corrupt kernel wait queues via pipe reinitialization. z_vrfy_k_pipe_init() accepts an initialized k_pipe, and z_impl_k_pipe_init() clears its queues while blocked threads retain stale list links. CONFIG_USERSPACE and access to a live pipe are required; a later timeout or wake removes a stale node, causing invalid kernel writes, lost wakeups, hangs, and data loss.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
