CVE-2026-10635

System crash or memory corruption via dangling domain

Published Jun 16, 2026 · Updated Jun 16, 2026

Use-after-free in Zephyr RTOS 4.4.0 allows local users with kernel privileges to crash Xtensa MMU systems or corrupt page-table memory. arch_mem_domain_deinit clears the page-table pointer but leaves the caller-owned domain node linked in xtensa_domain_list, so later map or unmap walks dereference stale storage. Reachability requires kernel or supervisor code on Xtensa builds with CONFIG_USERSPACE and CONFIG_XTENSA_MMU; unprivileged threads and remote inputs cannot trigger the path directly.
