Unauthenticated arbitrary-role impersonation via unverified SAML assertions
Published Aug 11, 2026 · Updated Aug 11, 2026
Authentication bypass in PicketLink Federation SAML in Red Hat JBoss EAP 7 allows remote attackers to assume any principal and role. The unsolicited-response handler accepts forged SAML assertions without verification or validation. A network-reachable SAML-protected application is required; exploitation exposes restricted data and operations under the chosen identity.
