Credential pool collapse via global token synchronization
Published Jun 2, 2026 · Updated Jun 2, 2026
Improper authentication in Nous Research Hermes Agent 2026.4.0 through 2026.4.23 allows local users to overwrite pooled Anthropic identities. During exhaustion handling, _sync_anthropic_entry_from_credentials_file blindly copies tokens from the global Claude credentials file into each differing claude_code pool entry. Exploitation requires local file access, multiple claude_code entries, and an exhaustion-driven rotation; affected entries converge on the injected identity, breaking account isolation and failover.
