Root command execution via unchecked configuration message
Published Jun 9, 2026 · Updated Oct 7, 2026
OS command injection in Ivanti Sentry before 10.5.2, 10.6.2, and 10.7.1 allows remote attackers to execute commands as root. The MICS handleMessage endpoint passes an unauthenticated request's message into configuration processing, where a commandexec XML value reaches native command execution. Exploitation requires network access to that endpoint; the resulting commands run with root privileges on the Sentry appliance.
