Wrong X25519 shared secret via unmasked top bit
Published Jun 25, 2026 · Updated Jun 25, 2026
Incorrect calculation in wolfSSL 5.6.4 through 5.9.1 allows remote authenticated users to derive a wrong X25519 shared secret. The x64 and AVX2 final-reduction routines propagate a carry into bit 255 but fail to mask the high limb, leaving a non-canonical field element. Reachability requires an x86_64 build with the Intel assembly path enabled and inputs that trigger the final carry.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
