Improper authorization in PackageKit 1.3.0 through 1.3.5 allows local users to disclose privileged file existence through D-Bus. In src/pk-transaction.c, SetHints passes an attacker-chosen frontend-socket path to g_file_test as root, which follows symlinks and returns distinguishable success or failure. Any unprivileged local account able to create its own transaction can use the response as an existence oracle, but cannot read file contents through this flaw.
