CVE-2026-10278Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Authenticated file read and write via path arguments

Published Jun 1, 2026 · Updated Jun 1, 2026

Path traversal in ishayoyo Excel MCP Server 1.0.0 through 1.0.2 allows remote authenticated users to read or write local spreadsheet files. The read_file and write_file flows resolve caller-controlled path arguments and pass them to filesystem APIs without a workspace boundary or allowlist. Exploitation requires access to invoke an affected MCP tool, and access remains limited to supported files readable or writable by the server process.
