Server-side request forgery in AEM MCP Server allows remote authenticated users to make the server contact attacker-selected hosts. The getAssetMetadata handler appends .json to the caller-controlled assetPath and passes it to Axios without restricting it to approved AEM content roots, allowing absolute or protocol-relative input to redirect the outbound GET. Reachability requires access to the authenticated MCP or HTTP/JSON-RPC method, server egress to the chosen destination, and no upstream assetPath validation; the bounded consequence is access to network resources reachable from the server.
