Local file disclosure via unvalidated media path
Published Jun 1, 2026 · Updated Jun 1, 2026
Path traversal in the Send API endpoint in WhatsApp MCP Server 0.0.1 allows attackers to read local files via crafted media paths. SendMessageRequest passes mediaPath to os.ReadFile in sendWhatsAppMessage without validation, sanitization, or confinement to an allowed directory. Access to the adjacent Send API is required, and disclosure is limited to files readable by the bridge process.
