Authenticated skill modification via reused read allowlist
Published Jun 1, 2026 · Updated Jun 1, 2026
Incorrect authorization in AstrBot 4.23.6 allows remote authenticated users to modify global skills through filesystem tools. The _normalize_rw_path method validates FileWriteTool and FileEditTool targets against read-allowed roots, so absolute paths under the global skills directory pass a write authorization check. A non-admin member with computer-use tool access can alter shared automation logic; the published proof of concept demonstrates unauthorized skill-file modification.
