LLM prompt manipulation via incomplete description sanitization
Published Jun 1, 2026 · Updated Jun 1, 2026
Prompt injection in AstrBot 4.23.6 allows remote authenticated users to alter LLM instructions through crafted skill descriptions. The _sanitize_prompt_description function removes backticks and control characters but leaves instruction text intact before build_skills_prompt inserts it into the system prompt. Exploitation requires low-privileged remote access and a controllable sandbox-only skill description; resulting actions remain bounded by the bot's configured tools and data access.
