CVE-2026-10163Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Memory corruption via unchecked USB account copy

Published May 31, 2026 · Updated May 31, 2026

Buffer overflow in Edimax BR-6478AC 1.23 allows remote authenticated users to corrupt memory through a crafted USB-account POST request. The formUSBAccount handler passes attacker-controlled UserName or Password data to strcpy without checking the destination buffer's size. Low-privileged access to the management endpoint is required; the public proof of concept sends a 5,000-byte Password value but does not demonstrate code execution.
