Administrator creation via reflected search parameter
Published May 30, 2026 · Updated May 30, 2026
Reflected XSS in CicadasCMS 2431154dac8d0735e04f1fd2a3c3556668fc8dab allows remote attackers to execute script via the search s parameter. The search method reflects a nonnumeric s value into an error response without HTML encoding, causing the browser to treat injected markup as script. A victim must follow a crafted link while logged in as an administrator; the demonstrated script calls the unprotected user-update endpoint to create an administrator account.
