Authenticated code execution via unchecked MAC filter name
Published May 30, 2026 · Updated May 30, 2026
Stack-based buffer overflow in TRENDnet TEW-432BRP 3.10B20 allows remote authenticated users to crash the router or execute code. The boa formSetMACFilter handler copies the attacker-controlled filter_name parameter into a stack variable without checking its length, overwriting the function return address. Access to the HTTP management interface and valid credentials are required; a long filter name demonstrably interrupts router services, while return-address control enables code execution.
