CVE-2026-10097Network attack vector

Private-key recovery via incomplete ciphertext comparison

Published Jun 25, 2026 · Updated Jun 25, 2026

Incorrect comparison in wolfSSL 5.7.0 through 5.9.1 allows remote attackers to recover ML-KEM-1024 private keys via chosen ciphertexts. The AVX2 mlkem_cmp_avx2 routine compares only 1536 of 1568 re-encrypted ciphertext bytes, causing changes in the final 32 bytes to bypass implicit rejection. Exploitation requires a static-key decapsulation oracle that reveals whether the genuine or rejection secret was returned; successful queries expose the private key.
