LAN heap disclosure via unchecked transmit length
Published May 29, 2026 · Updated May 29, 2026
Out-of-bounds read in Shibby Tomato 1.28 miniupnpd allows remote attackers on the LAN to read heap data via a crafted SUBSCRIBE request. The NOTIFY builder stores an attacker-controlled callback URI in a 1,024-byte heap buffer, then passes snprintf's larger return value to send without checking the allocated size. UPnP must be enabled, and callback validation restricts delivery to the requester's IPv4 address, bounding the consequence to disclosure of adjacent heap and message data.
