CVE-2026-10036Network attack vectorHinoki check available

Arbitrary code execution via unsafe checkpoint deserialization

Published Aug 27, 2026 · Updated Aug 27, 2026

Unsafe deserialization in SpeechBrain before 1.1.1 allows attackers to execute arbitrary code through crafted checkpoint metadata. The _construct_checkpoint_objects helper parses every CKPT.yaml under a checkpoint path with PyYAML's unrestricted Loader while enumerating recovery candidates. Code runs when an application invokes Checkpointer.recover_if_possible() on a path containing attacker-controlled metadata, even if that checkpoint is not selected.
