Remote code execution
Published May 28, 2026 · Updated May 28, 2026
Insufficient input validation in Google Chrome USB before 148.0.7778.216 allows remote attackers to execute code via crafted HTML. The public advisory identifies the USB component but does not disclose the affected code path or the validation operation applied to page-controlled input. Exploitation requires a user to open the crafted page; arbitrary code execution is established, but a Chrome sandbox escape is not.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.

Attacks
What attackers are doing with it
Daily unique IPs observed by Shadowserver honeypots for known exploited vulnerabilities (KEVs). Missing observations do not establish an absence of attacks.
